My passion for fishing started early in my childhood when I’d target sunfish and perch with old bread and dug up worms. “Usually the local crows would steal his bait while he was too preoccupied with what swam below,” his mother recalls. What swam below, although seemingly intangible and elusive, was becoming more apparent to me. And I, like all fisherman who at one point in their lives land the one fish that tops all others, realized that the old adage that there are bigger fish to be had was in fact true.
